In a remote environment, great teamwork doesn’t just happen it’s built with intention.
Here are a few things I’ve learned:
- Over-communicate (without overloading) – Clear, frequent updates in shared channels keep everyone aligned, while being mindful not to overwhelm. At Yield, we love Teams.
- Create “face time” moments – Quick video check-ins for example help maintain trust and rapport.
- Use the right tools, not all the tools – Whether it’s project boards, chat apps, or collaborative docs, choose what truly helps your team move forward together.
- Document everything – Decisions, processes, and next steps written down in a central spot means no one is left guessing.
- Celebrate wins — big and small – Recognition fuels morale, and morale fuels collaboration.
Remote work can make us more intentional, more inclusive, and more creative.
When a team is aligned on purpose and process, distance isn’t a barrier, it’s just geography.
